Shout Shipping: Getting Started

Shout Shipping can save you HOURS on order fulfillment and sends your customers shipping status alerts automatically!

Below is a quick overview and first steps to get you started.

Step 1: Get an Overview

Shout shipping allows you to buy and print shipping labels from your home or office, saving you trips to the post office. What’s even better – get the lowest USPS rates possible with Commercial Plus postage. This gives you the deepest discounts no matter your volume.  Shout’s shipping allows you to:

  • Buy and print shipping labels

  • Compare shipping rates between different services (e.g. first class, priority)

  • Print packing slips

  • Insure packages

  • Require signature confirmation

  • Print in batches

  • Print SCAN forms

  • Schedule USPS pick ups

  • Track shipping status

  • Automatically text package tracking alerts to customers

  • Send return shipping labels

  • Schedule follow up messages

  • Orders are not required for shipping.

  • Shipping is included with all paid Shout accounts. To upgrade, go here.

  • Rates offered are the cheapest available from USPS, and cheaper than driving to the post office.

How Shipping Works with Orders

Shout Orders provides a way to manage your entire order process in one place –track order status, create new Square invoices, send invoices and receipts in a text, and manage all your shipping. Once an order is created, you can create a shipping label directly from the orders page.

Step 2: Upgrade to a Paid Account

All paid accounts get shipping at no additional cost. To upgrade your free account, go here.

Step 3: Configure Your Default Settings

Before shipping, it's a good idea to set your default settings – text alerts and shipping preferences. 

Text Alerts and Messages

  • Click the black arrow at the top right of the screen to show a drop down menu
  • Click Settings
  • Under Shipping, click on Settings

  • Here you can:
    • Set your default From address
    • Edit text alerts to be in your voice
    • Select which messages you want sent automatically
  • Click Save

Printer Settings

  • Click the black arrow at the top right of the screen to show a drop down menu
  • Click Settings
  • Under Shipping, click on Printing

  • Here you can:
    • Set the default size of your shipping label and packing slip so it matches your printer
    • Customize your packing slip with your logo  and company information
  • Always be sure to Save Changes

Step 4: Create Shipping Label

Shout's Shipping feature is designed to let you print shipping labels with, or without, an order. Below are step-by-step instructions for both.
